Speakers and bios:
Carla Cesaroni, PhD, is a Professor of Criminology at Ontario Tech University. The focus of her research for the past 25 years has been on the experiences and adjustment of incarcerated adolescent and young adult men. Carla is consistently dedicated to advancements in pedagogy and engaging classroom experiences. She has won several teaching awards. She is the Chair of the Teaching Committee in the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities. She began research on academic contra harassment because of her own experience with the phenomena and the recognition that there is very little systematic work which has been done on the topic.
Matthew Stein, PhD, is the Director of the Social Research Centre at Ontario Tech University. In his role at the Social Research Centre, Matthew provides methodological support to a variety of social science research projects, both within academia and in the community at large. Matthew joined the Teaching Committee in the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities to continue his development in pedagogy and to discuss current issues that were occurring in university classrooms. His involvement in academic contra harassment is both due to his own experiences and to consider the adverse effects of this phenomenon on contract employees.
